Outdoor soccer starts May 5, 2008 (weather & fields permitting)
Practices
MAY - 6:30-8:30 pm Monday, Wednesday & Friday - Lions Club soccer field on Danby St. (corner of College Rd. & Danby).
JUNE/JULY - 6:30-8:30 pm Monday & Wednesdays - UAF soccer field next to the Student Rec Center.
Mondays will cover basic skills for beginners. Experienced players are welcome (and encouraged) to come help out and refresh your skills. Wednesdays will be reserved for intermediate/advanced drills and skill building. Again, beginners are welcome if you'd like to take it up a notch. These practices will include more advanced drills and "guided" scrimmages. Friday practices (held in May only) will be scrimmages.
Games
We play at the Fairbanks Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) fields on Wilbur St. Most games are Friday (a very few on Sundays) evenings May 30 through August 1 at 6:00, 7:00 and 7:50 pm. An end-of-season potluck and "tournament" will be held Saturday Aug. 2.
The FYSA soccer complex is located on Wilbur St. at the corner of Davis & Wilbur. There is a parking lot off Wilbur St. and also a lot on Davis at the SE corner of the complex near Lathrop St. A couple ways to find it:
1. Take Airport Rd. east away from the airport, turn right on Wilbur St., soccer complex is on your left after the jail.
2. Go south on University Ave., pass Safeway, Pet Stuff, Sophie's Plaza....turn left on Davis Rd. Go through the Peger Rd. stoplight, soccer complex will be on your left at the corner of Wilbur St.
